Dwarves of Valruhn
Deepveil, Glimmerhold, and Skyforge
The dwarves of Valruhn are divided into three distinct clans, each forged by the pressures of their environment and the enemies they face.
The Deepveil Dwarves — Wardens of the Deep Link to heading
Dwelling deep beneath the earth, the Deepveil Dwarves are hardened survivors of an eternal battle against a malevolent force known as the Gray. This corruption seeps into their caverns, twisting stone and flesh alike.
Deepveil warriors don armor embedded with shimmering quartz and sigils that repel the Gray’s influence. Their smiths forge weapons that glow faintly, infused with minerals extracted from veins of crystalline ore. These dwarves are stoic and grim, their eyes glinting with determination and a hint of despair. Their culture values resilience, sacrifice, and the constant fight to preserve their untainted kin and heritage.
The Glimmerhold Dwarves — Masters of Commerce Link to heading
Masters of commerce and diplomacy, the Glimmerhold dwarves thrive on the surface, building grand trading cities at the base of mountain ranges. Renowned for their opulent craftsmanship, they produce jewelry and artifacts sought after by kings and collectors alike.
Their merchants travel far and wide, clad in finely embroidered robes with intricate patterns that signify wealth and status. Glimmerhold dwarves are gregarious and cunning, adept at turning any deal to their favor. Their society revolves around trade guilds, bustling markets, and a council of merchant-princes who steer the clan’s fortunes.
The Skyforge Dwarves — The Mountain Brotherhood Link to heading
Nestled high in the mountains, the Skyforge Brotherhood is an alliance of dwarves and mountain elves, united to protect their realm from the relentless Void Monsters. These dwarves are experts in crafting weapons and armor imbued with starlight, a gift bestowed by their elven allies.
Skyforge dwarves wear lightweight, silver-hued plate adorned with celestial motifs, allowing for agility in battle. Their forges produce artifacts that glow faintly in the dark, tools essential for fending off the creatures of the Void. They value unity, precision, and their sacred bond with the mountain elves, often holding shared rituals under the night sky to honor their combined heritage and purpose.
