Blackthorne, the Iron Widow Link to heading

Blackthorne

The unchallenged leader of Blackroot. Tall, lean, and hard as the iron she’s named for. Her piercing gray eyes see through deception, and her raven-black hair, streaked with silver, is often tied back in a simple braid when preparing for battle. She is not a queen, nor a warlord, but a survivor who will do whatever it takes to keep her people alive.

Titles: The Iron Widow | The Wolf of Blackroot | Mother of the Forsaken

The Boneward Sisters — Dryads of the Threefold Grove Link to heading

The Boneward Sisters

Deep within the ancient wood, nestled in the tangled roots of three towering skeletal trees, dwell the Boneward Sisters — three spectral dryads bound to the grove’s silent, haunting majesty. They covet the remains of the fallen, believing that bones hold the whispers of the past.

  • Drisova, the Hollow Mother — The eldest, who sings to the bones she collects and can call forth the memories of the dead
  • Signe, the Bone Weaver — The artist, who weaves delicate structures from bones and can animate them into fleeting constructs
  • Vaeska, the Pale Huntress — The youngest, who drifts between trees seeking new additions for their collection

The Earth Brothers — Keepers of the Rootbound Harvest Link to heading

The Earth Brothers

A trio of humanoid elemental beings resembling living statues of soil, stone, and tangled roots. They do not till the land but coax it to produce its bounty, calling forth carrots, potatoes, rutabagas, and other hearty crops that sustain Blackroot.

  • Grundar Rootborn — The eldest; a figure of packed, cracked stone who listens to the whispers of the soil
  • Tavrik Loamfist — The middle brother; pragmatic, with hands capable of crushing rock or lifting a single sprout
  • Orlen Bramblegut — The youngest; woven from tangled roots and vines, with small flowers along his shoulders

They do not deal in gold — only in favors, promises, and respect for the land.

Brother Gulgath Link to heading

A creature who devoured a Glimmerhold monk named Kynar, took his form, and then — intrigued by the monk’s teachings — began following them himself. He carries a crescent-shaped crystal amulet, emerald green, that can detect Titans when they come close.
